The Beanery Announces New Initiative Following Investigation Into Fair Trade Practices
Calico Rock, Arkansas - January 26, 2025 - The Beanery Coffee Company is launching a new initiative following an investigation into its Fair Trade practices. The company’s new coffee bean tracking feature will allow stakeholders to identify the origin of the coffee beans used to make their morning brew.
To drive this initiative, The Beanery is hiring four full-time positions to track coffee bean shipments to store locations nationwide. These staff members will be responsible for communicating with The Beanery’s suppliers and issuing quarterly reports on crop yields, the quality of shipments, and the impact on local communities.
Before launching this initiative, The Beanery discovered that several of its largest suppliers were not adhering to the company's ethical-sourcing standards. In response, The Beanery President and CEO April Adams said, “We are committed to full transparency in how we ethically source The Beanery’s coffee beans. We believe our new initiative will help restore trust and assure our customers of our dedication to ethical practices.”
Founded in 2017, The Beanery is an Arkansas-based coffee company that proudly serves 36 states. Known for its distinctive flavors inspired by the Mid-South region, the company is dedicated to its slogan, "Ethically sourced, Thoughtfully served." The Beanery focuses on crafting memorable experiences for every customer through its carefully curated beverages.
